Here it is- New 850 Magnum
« on: December 29, 2007, 06:48:45 AM »
Hello everyone,
Here's a photo of my new 850 Magnum along side my carbine QB78 and my AR2078. I chose a .22 in the end for no other reason than I have around 5,000 .22 pellets in the house  :D
I brought the rifle with a Walther scope, mini bipod and moderator all in the box for less than buying all three individually. My only gripe is not knowing how the bipod fits. I think I  must have left something in the store....silly me.
The overall finish seems fine to my eye and feels well made. Time of course will tell. So far just a few mag's have been shot through with the iron sights and the 850 looks to be an accurate rifle :)  It is now dark in London so I have put it away. I look forward to having a few hours with it tomorrow.
OK that's it for now.
regards,
Alan :)

You made a good choice Alan, and I think you will really enjoy shooting off 8 round vollies. I bought 2 extra clips and I just pop them in and shoot.:) Make sure you buy a big box of CP's they are cheaper...:) You will find you will be going through more pellets with the Magnum..:) I think Jeff is a little closer to buying one of these as well..:) Great shooter and lots of fun Alan.. Thanks for sharing. Gene

Thanks Gene. You are correct on the pellet consumption. I must be shooting ten mag's worth in the 850 when I would be shooting maybe 30 pellets with the QB's. Hmmm. My pellet stash will soon be empty  :o
I am going to get a few more mag's this weekend but as usual they cost an arm and a leg in the UK (about US$40.00 for two   ).
I may also try and get the 12g convertor as I have a few thousand 12g powerlets to spare :)

Alan

Hi Ed,
If you buy one will Umarex give me a small fee? I wonder how many rifles have been brought from dealers around the world because folks at the GTA mention them? hehe  :D

Alan

WOW, that is allot of powerlets..:) Well the price I paid here for the two mags was $20.00 US and that is the same as $40.00 UK money..:) Do you ever get down to Ipswitch?

Think you ran the exchange rate backwards...takes a little less than 2 bucks to equal one pound (and from the looks of things, the UK is putting a serious screwing to their airgun buyers).

Hi Gene,
The powerlets were a gift from a friend. They are not meant for guns according to him but they work fine. So I am happy :)
I am about 50 miles from Ipswich in the county of Suffolk, is that the town you mean?
regards,
Alan :)

Airgun powerlets have a little oil in them to keep your valve etc lubed so you might want to switch off and on with those.
