GAMO PBA RAPTOR PELLETS
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:29:37 AM »
Thought some of you guys might like to know WaL-Mart has PBA Raptors for $4.96. Does not seem to be available at all stores however. I shopped one walmart that had both the PBA and the ROcket. The other local store didn't have either.

Thanks Mike. Many members here, including myself are not very fond of those pellets for spring guns as they're too light and over time might damage the internals. I guess they're ok in pumpers or CO2 guns...

I won't use em in my springers but they work great in my 1377 pistol.   If my Walmart has em at that price I'll pick some up,,, thanks.....

I agree with Jeff, alright for pumper's and CO2's but may be hard on the springer's internal's. Ed

Okay, I am new to speingers (I had a .22 sheridan that served me well for 20 years) so this may seem like a dumb question but why would Gamo make them and advertise them to be used in the gun if they can damage it.  The gun I bought came with a 50 pack of the darn things. I was not impressed with the accuracy of them by the way. Lots of flyers but they sound good when fired. The speed and hardness of them seem to limit the shock factor for hunting. I did see a Gamo video where they shot and killed a 180 lb. pig with them.
I waited until I had put about 1000 rounds of premiers through my shadow before I tried the PBA'S. They don't seem accurate enough to use for hunting. THe video I saw said the gun used fired PBA'S at 1600 fps. IF they aren't accurate at 1200 fps, how could they be at 1600fps.

Part of their sale's hype I gess and we've seen that video also, more hype hehe. Gamo's are great Airgun's, I own four of em and wouldn't part with them but I'm not taken them on a pig hunt. The Rapter's are ultra light to get the fps but accuracy is lost and at longer ranges the tumbling effect come's into play. Ed
