Another spring replacement question.
« on: January 03, 2008, 12:36:02 PM »
So if or when my stock spring breaks, and I replace it with a JM tarantula, should I expect to have a change in pellet accuracy?  I don't want to order a big lot of pellets that could be rendered useless if I have to swap springs.  I imagine it wouldn't vary too much from a tarantula, to a different tarantula.  I'm asking this because I was considering ordering a butt-load of meistukuglen (sp) and some r10's for my shadow because after shooting groups with my straight shooters sampler, I found them to be the best at the range I shoot.  Thanks guys for helping a newbie!

Once fitted a more powerful spring to my Diana m 52 and a pellet which would not allow me to hit a can @ 10 metres from a rest, suddenly gave me one hole groups @ 50 metres without even trying, at first i thought my friend with an anschutz rimfire was shooting at the wrong target, the heads on these pellets were a very loose fit in the barrel, it made no sense but for me upping the power seemed to make the gun less pellet sensitive, but i think it can work the other way to

Hey Josh,

From everything I have learned about springers, a new spring, or just breaking them in can cause a change in the pellet they like.... But it may not ?, somestill likethe same pellets, there is no way to tell. If there is a change in accuracy, they can go back to liking the same pelletafter the spring settles in, she may well love the R10's. So hang on to your pellet sampler, you will never know when you will need it.
