Had to bury my dog today...
« on: January 09, 2008, 02:40:45 AM »
My dog died last night while I was at work. I found him in his usual napping spot all stretched out the way he always lays down. Come to find out he passed on. He was my BEST buddy for the last 17 years. A jet black, 85 pound Chow, Akita & Black Lab mix that I've had since he was a 1 month old pup.

Sad to see him go.

Sorry to hear that Sam.:0 I had a Lab Chow mix that was the smartest dog I've ever seen. She could understand what you were saying and would do it first time. She was 15 when I had to have her put down.:0

Sorry for your loss. When you have them that long they are your kids. I know I will come to that point with my 2 little ones. Jus try to remember the goodtimes I know it's hard I had to burry one about 6 years ago 2 days before I kick my ex to the curb. I'll never forget that week. Take care there are plenty of puppies that need good homes fo the next 17 or so years.

I'm sorry to hear that Sam,

Pets can become closer then children at times. I hope you find another buddy soon, it will never replace him, but it helps a lot to fill the empty hole now left in your heart.

Good luck buddy.

Yeah...He was pretty close to me. THe best bird dog I ever had too! Never really had to train him. He just kinda went after Quail & Pheasant on his own.
He was my Truck Buddy too. Went just about EVERYWHERE with me except work or wherever dogs weren't allowed in.

I talked to a friend of mine from work. He says his brother-in-law has two 6 month old boxer pups left from a litter of 7. One male one Femal.  He said he'd be willing to give them to me as long as I pay for the vaccinations. Which I have absolutly NO problems with. My daughter wouldn't either  :)

Sam,

I offer my most sincere condolences. I don't know how I would handle the loss of my dog. She is my buddy, too!

Sorry to hear about your loss! Put my dog down because of cancer was the hardest thing I've done to date. Get so attach to those darn animals. You wont regret the boxer especially if you have kids and room to run. My sister has had three or four and a couple litters of puppies. Just a great family dog.

Best wishes

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to miss work for a day or two when Mojo died. Our dogs are our babies, got two labs and one GSD now. One of the doctors at work is trying to give me a blue tick coon hound since his dad can't keep him anymore. Drive on down to sunny florida, I will put in a good word for you. John
