Its kind of an interesting gun for the money, i was looking at the spanish made beemans at my local gun shop but there where so many offerings of there 1000 speed spanish and pricing $250 to $69.  How is this one i found?  Is the trigger guard plastic or a nice two stage, cabellas is right around the corner from me but i dont like there guns and pricing.

Worry more about the trigger, less about the guard... this one has an awful trigger. Look for the SS1000H that has the fully rounded trigger guard (oval shaped). People hate this square-backed version.

You will never know the trigger guards are plastic, btw. They look, feel, and work fine (err, trigger stays guarded). It is only when you pull it off that you realize how light they are. None of my springers need any more weight, anyhow.

I agree with you Dave on the trigger. You would be better off buying a Gamo 440 and just putting a GRT-III in it or having CDT do a Turbo Tune with trigger. Then you will have an air rifle that will shoot fantastic and last many years to come. Gene
