Did anyone else have trouble sighting in their Big Cat?
« on: January 13, 2008, 09:46:12 AM »
I had one heck of a time get the gun to hit where I wanted it to.  At first it was the scope, didn't have her cranked down good and tight. After I figured that out, I was still all over the place for about 25 to 40 shots. Then all of a sudden it was on. Can't explain it. Anyone have any ideas? All total I've put about 500 pellets through it so far.

that sounds like a new gun "settling in". When all else is nailed down, and you've got velocity variations, which is common in a new gun...well those pellets fly all over the place....until the velocity finally settles down, and then you start seeing some consistency. You probably already know this...but I'll mention it just in case...different pelletshave different POI (point of impact). If you sight your gun with say Tomahawk pellets and start hittin' that bullseye, and then change pellets to say RWS Hobbys...well, you'll see the hobbys start landing in a different place(most likely). Might not be by too much but maybe it will...depends on the gun. There's at least an inch of difference of POI when I shoot RWS Superdomes and Crosman Premeir Domeheads out of my CFX.With all that said...sounds like 500 pellets should be enough to start seeing some consistency with one type of pellet.
