These guys have been around ever since I have been in the internet business "1992" . I have actually met people who have been scammed by them and who have lost thousands of dollars. In fact one of my customers actually was recieving packages from them and re mailing them to other places. She even talked to the person many times on the phone and had developed a very comfortable relationship with her and her husband. I told her is was a scam and finally she confronted him with key questions about what he was doing and finally realized what he was.
Her and her husband were getting real close to losing most of there retirement to this guy.
