Powerline squirrel
« on: February 01, 2008, 08:43:01 AM »
Thank god for oak and Pecans! My property has 10 old oaks and a couple of pecan trees on it.And it fringes a part of the city that has a HUGE population of grey squirrels. They  flourish with little or no predation for years. With the exception of the ospreys, and our neighbor hood resident horned owl(and know,me!)!Being at the literal epicenter of there food source allows me lots of trigger time. And today was no exception. While tapping away at the laptop this morning I decided to take a well deserved break and scan the ''hotspots'' with my  binoculars. They come in handy with there ability to ''see through''foliage and the like.I 've taken plenty by just taking time to really glass over spots I know with they(squirrels) freguent.Even though most of my shots are taken@under 30 yds.The binoculars really help. This one was staring @ me from a crook in an oak tree, from about 25 yds away.I would never have seen him .(BINOCULARS)Yes you can use your scope.....but as we all know this gets very tiresome....And once again I was shooting the Powerline 1000(Turkish).177 w/crosman premier hps. This rifle has great accuracy, butt loads of power,it just needs a liitle love and tuning...And yes,the gun is a VERY capable long ranger.
Powerline 1000 tuned,HW97K,Turbo tuned RWS 34 W/4-16 Swift,Bsa Lightning XL.177.
