Kudos to Crosman - 1000 times over!
« on: August 19, 2006, 07:00:14 AM »
Granted, their email response is frequently slow or non-existent... but last Wed I explained to a customer rep (on the phone) about the problems I've had with my Benji-Legacy 1000. Specifically, the compression tube was scored severly, and the cocking stroke was terrible.

Now, this was a refurb I bought in June - with a 30 day warranty. In any case, since I already had it apart she very apologetically explained that she could not accept the gun in for warranty repair. Could I get the parts at something of a discount because they were defective from the get-go? Certainly... in fact, they'll send me the parts at no cost.

So today - Saturday - a Fedex truck shows up - and delivers my brand new compression tube and piston, along with some other parts I had bought at the same time.

That does it for me. They've got my loyalty as a customer. Compared to Gamo - who won't even sell me a spring - these guys are simply terrific.

My experience has not been as good. I ordered a Special Edition 392 last month and have not recieved it or even got an email about any production hold ups. They were only gonna build 500 of these. I had called them twice in the last three weeks and enquired about the hold up and they assured me they would ship the following day. Never got a shipping notice at all. Called them back again two weeks later and the said for sure they would ship the next day. Oh well I never got a shipping notice. Finally yesterday I called and asked again about the Air Gun and they told me they could not explain why it was not being shipped. So I cancelled the order. I was not mad but disapointed in the service. I had no problems when I special ordered my 2240t.

Sorry to say that my experience with Crossman was also a bust.  See my comments in the following link http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=693&mid=3640#M3640

I understand that they may have been stuck with a gun that they didn't manufacture, but to me it is inexcusable to have a product with their name on it that they wouldn't provide service or parts on.  I'll stick to my Diana for  the time being.

...that Mendoza won't sell the parts to Crosman anymore. In that case, thei'd be nothing they can do. Although it woulda been nice if they told you.

Still, I'm comparing my Crosman experience with Gamo, Xisico, and Daisy. Maybe I need to move up in the world, but compared to those two Crosman customer support is fantastic.
