I got it! yay!
it was waiting for me at the back door of the house when I got home from work yesterday.
I opened it up, took a look of everything, tried a couple shots with just the irons (plastic actually) and attached the scope. I have to say the barrel sights look pretty nifty compared to what I have seen before, but I didn't bother to bring them in since I went directly to attaching the scope.
I attached it and plinked off a few crosman premier hollow points in the basement, about ten yards (30 feet) distance. everything seemed a little low and left, so I adjusted for it and once I got used to the springers action (I have never had a springer before) and "bangk!" noise from the action, I was able to bring her in to under a dime for twelve consecutive shots.
getting a bit of smoke coming from the pellet insert area when I open it up to put another in, so I am going to stop for a bit untill I get some new cloths to run through to clean it out this afternoon.
for what I have heard so far about the triggers being not-so great, I have to say this really doesn't seem all that bad. its no where near as crappy as my dads Winchester model (a daisy 800 x or s something I remember seeing laser marked on the barrel). his daisy is garbage compared to this number. I am going to contact Charlie later to see if there is anything he can recommend for my dads rifle.
the only thing I really don't care for too much about the rifle is the height that the scope has to be to get over the dampener diameter. I have to rest my cheek quite a bit higher than on my crosman 2100 classic, and its annoying but I think I can get used to it.
also, when I try the highest setting on the scope, I can't focus on anything in the house, and I plan to take it to the local range with my dad, because I know he'll want to play with it too, and get it sighted for some longer distances.
even the fiancee says it is much quieter than my crosman 2100. its hard to tell as the shooter, because your head is right next to the mechanism. I do have a dB meter (I am a musician) that I plan to take some actual reading of the whispers noise level at different locations and distances once I get some new batteries for it.
I am going shopping for some more/different pellets to try out with it in a couple hours.
overall I am pretty pleased!
