Gamo sells hunter 440 or 220 stocks. The 440 is $37. It takes 3 torx screws to replace it.

The 440 stock comes with rubber butt plate and seems to be of a better quality finish. Also the roller inside the stock is a bit larger than the one that comes with the synthetic stock. Change the roller and your Shadow 1000 action will fit in the 440 like a glove..:)

You need a trigger guard about 6 bucks and you may need a air compression tube cap.Nope just checked tube caps are the same. Good luck.

A 220 stock is a perfect fit....

...a 440 is not, at least if you plan to use open sights. The rear sight on the 440 is different, and the 440 stock has a smaller cutout in the front to clear the adjustment knob when cocking the gun. To use a 440 stock, you'll have to either lose the rear sight or enlarge the cutouts.

The trigger guards are interchangeable, whether they are plastic or metal.

As for the rollers, the Shadow I just had apart had the larger roller and the 440 had the smaller one.

BTW - you might not like the 220 stock. It's about 1" shorter than the Shadow stock, and it's rather plain looking...

FYI, I just had one of each apart and dropped the Shadow action into the 440 stock to see how this worked.
