Purpleheart wood stock pics ,
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:51:31 PM »
I am very happy to have this one on the way to the house, this fellow can make some stocks! The last one was the lefty thumb hole from laminate this would be much more an FT stock and I will put up another pic when I get my action in it and my prints all over it.
 Louder than words,

I think we may have a new stock maker around and thats a good thing.

Woodcraft (.com) in Fla.  I think you would have to go to one of their stores to get it but maybe online or calling would work out.
If you get some please post where and how you liked dealing with them.

I've dealt with Woodcraft both online and in store, great outfit, I can highly recommend them.  Watch out, though, if you're a woodworker, think kid in a candy store :-).  Beautiful stock, BTW, Brian really knows what he's doing.  Later.

Nice wood!!!

Woodcraft has this deal where you buy so many $$ worth of wood and they give you a coupon towards more wood.  I hate going there, I walk around, look in my wallet, call my wife, look in my wallet, beg and plead with my wife, then usually come home with a few strips of wood suffering the whole time.  Woodcraft is a really great place, but I will say some of their wood is slightly overpriced, especially if you buy the small pieces of exotic woods.  It's also a bit tough to find wood that is thick enough to cut a stock out of regardless of where you shop, I've purchased a blank from Boyds in the past: http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/  I got a really nice figured walnut blank from them for a pretty decent price last year, I'd probably purchase from them if I wanted to cut another stock.

Hmmm, how about a left handed sporter stock? Maybe a mirror image of what's on the B50 from the factory? Maybe cherry, maple, pecan, rosewood, beech.
PM me with prices, if possible.

Duuude, you got yerself a pink gun...haha!!!  Might want to ditch the camo jacket and get an evening dress with sequins and matching purse to go with that thing.

All kidding aside John, again that is one nice looking gun.  I'm not much of a purpleheart fan, but the design is really slick!
