Howdo you loadpellets in the RWS 48/52/54?

I never see that mentioned, though I read about several different mechanisms.

Any place where there are pictures of this in general, and specifically for the 54?

I look at the exploded diagrams, but they are of no help

You mentioned the 54 specifically, which I do not have.

I seem to remember that the 54 is essentially a 52

I've never seen anything but break-barrel rifles loaded.

     I can tell you how I load my 52. I use a large pair of tweezers to insert the pellet directly into the barell and then use my pellet seater to press the pellet completely into the barell, seating it nice and smooth. It works great for me. I use the same procedure on my Model 46.

To show you the loading area, I had to cock it so I wanted to shoot a pellet too.

I aimlessly walked down there not even thinking to stalk down.

When I got where I took those pictures, one of the fattest biggest ground hogs I ever saw ran off to the right into the woods.

Next, time I will be more careful when I walk down =D

The lever next to the open chamber closes the chamber?

Looks like you could lose a finger in that. I'm sure there's a bunch of interlocking safties, right?

Why? is the danger of losing a fingertip that real, or is it just awkward to slip it into the barrel?

correct. If you look at the left hand side there is a safety of sorts that you have to depress to close the cocking arm into the original position and close the chamber.

It may be a bit awkward if you have a long scope.

That's one reason I tried out the "mini"

Plenty of clearance with that scope.

I just seat the pellet with my thumb and I still have both of them
