Question for Josh reg; degassing tool.
« on: February 13, 2008, 08:30:18 PM »

Can anyone say what the empty threaded hole in the back of the air tube is for?

Am I missing something?

I've been told it is for the degassing tool. I don't have a degassing tool.

Is it like one of those tools to check the water level in your cars tailight?

I haven't read anything in the Owners manual about degassing or a degassing tool.

I've found a threaded set screw that fits and cleans up the look of the bare empty  hole but wonder if it's ok to leave it in there?

Josh, anyone?

Is this the De-gassing tool I didn't get with my .22?

I found a pic of this over on the Crosman forum with the question. What is this?

I guess mine came missing the threaded knob w/probe attached. I just have a threaded hole.

Does that sound right Josh?

Anyone?

Tool has to be ordered/requested

From what I gathered, the de-gassing tool needs to be ordered or requested from Crosman. It's OK to leave it open or to put a small hex screw in there if you wish. Nothing too long or it forces the hammer spring to release the charge that's in there. That said, it makes the perfect power adjuster if that's what you're after.

na, just thought it looked like something was missing and I remember reading on the Crosman site "if you overfill the gun just use the degassing tool to remove the excess air" so I was wondering if mine was missing?

It is for the degassing tool. Which is sold separately on our website or at least it will be in another day or so. It is an extra tool for those who want it.
