centering scope reticle.
« on: August 20, 2006, 10:13:32 AM »

I have a scope and an adjustable mount.

It says to put the reticle at the midpoint for both elevation and windage and install, which seems right.

Is there a standard number for the range of these adjustments? 1-4, 1-8, 1-10?

I could crank all the way one way, then all the way the other, and back half, but I would have less anxiety if I could just put it on center.

The reason I have this new stuff is that when I adjusted for droop, the scope made funny noises near the end of the adjustment range, and got erratic after that. I'd like to avoid this again.

Thanks.

Manually clicking from one stop to the other and coming back 1/2 the number is the way...but I'd not sweat being off a few clicks. Idea is to get the scope as close as possible to the center of the lens systems where the optics are at thier best.
