what to do with PBA ammo
« on: February 23, 2008, 01:05:16 AM »
when I got my rifle it came with 50 rounds of PBA and I bought another 100 just because I thought it was a good idea...well, now I have 150 PBA pellets and I'm not sure if I should even shoot them.  I read around here that they'll mess up the spring because they don't provide enough dampening...so, if I shot these PBA's sporadically  until I ran out and then never touch them again, will that damage my rifle?

Do you have any pump pellet gun that you can put them through. My youngest has a Crosman 760, and he thinks he is pretty cool being able to shoot the gold pellets. Just stay away from the springers with them.

As said pump or CO2, no no for springer's and thier not accurate at long range. Earring's for the little lady or mod for fishing lures. :) Ed

I have 300 of them I can send you. I used them in the 760 for shooting in the back yard. The 760 died this year and I have not decided if I will replace it with anoter pump or CO2. I just know they ain't going in the springers.

People have been having a lot of fun with them in their CO2 pistols they
fit great in the rotary clip and since you shoot Short distance with CO2
pistols they are pretty accurate.

I wouldn't use them unless ALL of the following apply:

1) You're running the talon with the CO2 conversion,

2) You've dialed the hammer spring back,

and

3) You don't care if you actually hit your target

Other than that, why not? -JC

Hey roadrnnr42...I can take those PBA's off you if you still have them.....I can use them in my Diana model 24...which just shoots 495fps....should be safe.

I also got 50 free PBA pellets when I bought a Big Cat.  I haven't used them yet....as most of my air rifles go over 1000fps.

I know this is not the classified section....but are you giving them away for free...or are you asking for some $$$ on them.  If so, how much?
