Daisy SG Barrel/ Shot Tube Accuracy Fix

Bought one of the Daisy SG pumpers from Cobra Air a couple of years ago .After awhile, I noticed the barrel was moving around in the plug that is also the front sight and  of course, is supposed to keep the barrel centered in the sheet metal shroud that is the outside of the barrel assembly.  The trouble is, that the barrel plug allows the shot tube to float in that front sight/plug. With any rough handing the barrel moves and the POA changes . You can hear it rattle around in there. After some web searching , saw where some guys had made new  tighter fitting plugs or muzzle brakes to correct the problem. Apparently it is a common complaint with this gun. What I did was to use a piece of soft vinyl tubing about a 1'' long slipped over the end of the shot tube to take up the space inside the factory barrel/front sight plug. The shot tube only floats inside the plug and there are two  different dia. steps  inside that plug. The end step where the shot tube rests, (towards the reciever) is bigger and thats why the tube rattles around after the gun sees some use. The shot tube is also almost to short for the plug . Only a small portion of the tube actually is inside the rear of the plug.It was a quick and easy 10 minute fix. Take a drill bit with a shank that is the same size as the outside dia. of the shot tube and the plug /sight to the store to get the right size tubing. A drop of oil  on the shot tube will help in re- assembly. You want a tight fit but you don't want to have to hammer it back on, just a hard push should be all that's needed.  Now the barrel does not rattle around in the shroud, and the little gun is a tack driver with RWS hobbies.  Great starling gun.
