Curious observation

The other day I was out shooting my 52 with some heavier pellets (20.5 gr logun penetrators) and I noticed a definite leftward
recoil where with lighter pellets (14-17) this type of recoil wasn't there or wasn't detectable.

a) is this something I need to be concerned with and

b) what the hell is it?

Another observation:

My 52 seems very smooth (although it's my only rifle so what do I know?) but every once in a while I will get a bit of audible "twang"

It's not a constant thing and doesn't appear to be pellet related. Sometimes it happens, but it's rare -- maybe 1 shot in 20.

Any idea what this is, and again, do I need to be concerned about it.

Keep in mind I have put less than 500 shots through it.

I have not done any maintenance to it so far.

i mean to say DRY AS A BONE ~ so it acted very strangely and created poor groups. after lube and a gsi kit the shooting behavior was much better and so were groups. the crown wasn't doing very well either , and that may have been some of it as well.

what about the lube and crown on yours? also , my .22 52 MUCH prefers the 16 gr penetrators [won my first ft match with them in that 52] so that might be something to think about as well . . .

install 2 thin hardened washers (bearing races) on each end of the spring and lube between the 2 washers with a good molly or some of the new synthetic greases with micro bearings its better then molly as molly is a 30 year old technology  

Or you can just lube the spring ends
