Pushing Buttons lately. New tank on the way
« on: March 05, 2008, 02:13:01 PM »
Yep , I guess you've seen the new gun by now . I also got a new fill yoke and gauge , and tonight I ordered a 30 cu pony tank to  take to matches . It should be light enough to grab and go.The 30cu tank should give me 9 fills on my carbine and 7 fills with Classic ; which is about 600 shots for fill fee of $7 . Of course the 88cu tank is better, economy wise  ;at 28 fills for the carbine and 28 for the Classic at close to 1700 shots for a $7 fill charge . A small price to pay to keep from pumping . lol  kirby

I am affraid to buy any tanks David, cause then I would have an excuse to buy more PCP's.. hehe. Some day when I am rich I will get me a tank and another PCP, but untill then I will keep pumping my FX Cylone up when I want to shoot it..:)

Yea ; I've thought about a pump , but really the tank is cheaper ; and a lot less strenuous . hehe I got my 88cf tank for $150 and the 30 cf is costing about the same . with the price of metal going up , the tanks have been going up too. kirby

A tank does seem a lot easier.  This is my first PCP and I thought a pump would be easily portable and user friendly.  That way if I decided to leave for a long weekend with lots of shooting I wouldn't have to worry about air.  But man those pumps get tough when you get close to fill pressure.

I gave the pump idea a miss right from the start........and got a new Alu 12L tank. Its great, except for lugging to the indoor range for sighting and then to club day, and then,.......etc etc.

The idea of a Pony bottle does appeal for a quick light option doesn't it.

They are just as expensive as a big dive bottle here as well,.....might have to wait a while yet.

cheers
