Christmas in March????
« on: March 06, 2008, 08:57:10 AM »
Never know what the weather is going to be like in Texas, and today is no exception.  This might be a common thing for you folks up north, but in the 8 years I've lived in Fort Worth I have never seen it snow like this:

We've had some sort of precip just about every other day for 2 1/2 months. Cold rain, freezing rain, or snow/sleet. Got 1/2" of freezing rain the other night with snow on top. Supposed to get 5-10" of snow tomorrow thru Saturday. Just about the worst winter for precip we've had in quite a while. Been cold too.
I'm needing spring REALLY bad. Either too cold or wet to shoot. Starting to get withdrawal symptoms!

Man it got cold quick here in San Antonio too!  We were 80 degrees yesterday and today it is about 40.  Maybe we'll get some snow...

Same here Josh, it was in the 70's on Wednesday and snowing on Thursday.  I almost wore shorts to work on Thursday because it had been such a nice day the day before.  Good thing I didn't, it was really dropping by lunchtime....and today...hehe, it's all gone!

I moved to Texas back in August of 2000.  When I got here I think I spent a month asking myself,"Why did I move to this firey hell?".  It was about that time someone at work heard me complaining about the weather and said,"Welcome to Texas, if you don't like the weather just wait a couple minutes, it'll change".  So far it has been true:)  I watch Discovery Channel and History and see these shows talking about ships at sea and rogue waves, Texas has what I like to call rogue storms, they come out of nowhere, and gone before you know what hit you.  In 8 years I've gotten pretty used to the strange weather, well except for tornados....didn't have those in San Francisco, would rather have my earthquakes back, tornados are scary!
