FIRST CROW
« on: March 11, 2008, 06:38:53 AM »
So I just got my first tin of Beeman Crow Magnums and I decided to test them out in my back yard, I see a crow sitting in my fig tree and I decide what better way to test a "CROW" Magnum that on a CROW (pun intended) heres my first Crow which will probably be my last as I have enough rats to shoot.

I plan on doing the mod to some because I am going rat hunting tonight an I would love to see how much damage a fully expanded Modified Crow Magnum will do to a rat head.

AFTER FURTHER STUDIES I'VE COME TO THE UNDERSTANDING THAT " THAT'S A DAMN GRACKLE ".......LOL

What mods? Is there a way to make that hollow cavity even bigger? Also, just how quiet is that Talon SS? I want either a Condor or a Talon SS. Wondering just how loud a Condor is versus just how quiet a Talon SS is.

Way to go, Mike! It's always satisfying to me to see a good crow laying beside a purty shooter like that. Sounds like everybody involved did their job.

By using a sharp razor blade to cut an x on the hollow portion of the CM, you can make it more effective.  With a shroud, the condor is quieter than the talon ss IMO.

Mike, i had a condor .22 a little while back but had to return it to pyramyd air due to a tank problem, loved the gun and its power unfortunately didnt have enough money at the time to purchase it again so now im with my discovery 22. Anyways you mentioned a condor with a shroud barrel? I didnt know they made one with that, because anything to take the noise down on that thing is appreciated.

No mod's except for an internal moderator and she is pretty quiet i shoot rats from the back yard of a rental property that I have and I never have any Problems, when I was shooting my Gamo Big Cat people would come out to see what I was doing but not since I got the Talon SS. I would get the Talon SS because you can convert it to a Condor and then back to the SS thats why I got mine you basicly have all three guns in one.

I am not Mike, but I can answer your question.  There is an aftermarket shroud made by Tony of Talon Tunes that works very well.  With this shroud on, the gun is about as loud as a person spitting.  If you are about 20 yards away, it is so quiet you would not even know that a 60fpe air rifle is being fired.

You will love it when you get it.  It is probably the best $200 I have ever spent.

Thanks hunter220, but 200 dollars seems a little pricey though. :(
