About the best muzzle brake, or do you just not check you old posts?  I left a couple of question for you on you Hunting gate post about the racoons.  Specifically, how do you like the Genesis?  The other question was, can you do barrels for a CFX, and if so, how much?  I keep hearing that Gamo barrels are "oversized", if that's true, what would one be capable of with a choked match grade barrel?  Any info would be much appreciated.

I have checked a few barrels of Gamos with a hole gauge and they are the same size, it's where the pellet is inserted is different between rifle models, some are honed out to a larger diameter that other models..


Genesis  rifle I would have to give it an 7, weak barrel lock up, barrel pivot bolt came loose on me 3 or 4 times before I fixed it so it stays put. It's a good shooter, and the stock is real comfortable
to grip, the scope is fair since I got a new one from them, the first one would go blurry every time you shot it, but they sent a replacment within two weeks.  I have heard that most of the problems with the Genesis have been fixed by the factory.

I don't know if the .20 barrel would go on a CFX and what problems that would come across, I'll look into it some more.

I guess I should have been more specific, I'd just as soon stay with .177.  Cheap and easy to get pellets for, especially where I live.  Just how does the CFX barrel attatch, anyway?  So, match grade, choked .177 is what I'm looking for.  Does that make it easier, or worse?

the barrel screws into the breach like most all barels.

 Getting a Match grade Walther barrel is easy, choked or unchoked right from Lothar Walther, price the barrel if I rember is $93.00  (That is a barrel in white, just a steel tube with rifleing)

Would a choked barrel be ok for an Air Rifle? Don't know much about barrels...

So are you capable of cutting one to length and threading it to fit my CFX?  I can handle the blueing, have done it several time over the years for various firearms.  If not, who?  And again, if yes, how much?  Forgive me if I'm being a pest, that's really not my intent.  Thanks.

Yes sure, already did two rifles for myself. 1000SB Winchester and a Gamo Shadow 1000, and I just took the Winchester .177 barrel and put it in my .22 Shadow Supreme, and sold the .22 barrel.

The problem is I do not know what the thread pitch  or diameter is with out dissembling the rifle so I can match the dimensions of Gamo. The only way I can find out is taking apart one of my CFX's.
I am thinking about putting a .20 barrel on my .22 CFX because I can find no use for .22 in a springer, it has a pellet trajectory like a kicked football.  22 is OK in PCP and cO2 other than a 1250.


The .20 barrels are 16 mm diameter but that is no problem because there is more than enough room for the larger barrel on a CFX, and would have to make a Muzzle Brake for the 16 mm barrel.

Price I would have to think about even doing a CFX.
