Ordered Me A Discovery .22
« on: March 26, 2008, 09:27:20 AM »
I placed my order the other day.Not sure what the wait will be.I'm going to call tommorow and check the status.Hopefully not on back-order.I've read some people talking about it being loud. How loud?? On a scale of 1-10, what would you rate a 22 rimfire, and the Discovery? Just so I can get an idea.I plan on shooting a lot in the neighborhood.
Thanks,
James

Hi James,

My .22 Disco (before I returned it) was to loud for me to do routine shooting in my back yard. Not as loud as a .22 rimfire but still to loud for backyard shooting,,, at least for me. I guess the level of sound would also be effected by the terrain and the layout of your property/house etc. I say this because when I shot the rifle in the wide open areas of the duck farm I shoot at the sound really didn't seem to be loud to me at all,,, but when I shot it in my backyard the sound seemed much louder with a discernible "crack". I'm assuming this was because of the fact that the sound waves were effected by the physical structures on my property (house, shed, etc). Anyway,,, hope this helps ya out......

As far as ordering it goes, I ordered mine on 3/7 and each week they keep pushing the in stock date out another week. I e-mailed Pyramidair today and they said that Crosman is only sending them 30 Discos at a time and they have 100 backorders. I'm inquiring with other places to see if they have it "in stock" first before I order.

Pyramid Air is sitting on 100 orders, and they are only getting in 30 at a time from crosman. Patience young Jedi. It sucks doesn't it.

Thats why I ordered directly from Crosman, I knew the order would be expedited faster.
It's $10 more this way but If I have a problem I can deal with Crosman directly instead of putting up with the hassle of dealing with the retailer.

Just my .02 cents.

Hi GTA

Ordering straight from Crosman is the way to go. They set a price for the dealers so we can not give any deals.
They set their price only $10.00 above and ship theirs first. From what we understand the pump is the problem
they are on back ordered.

This is a great starting PCP air rifle the air rifle has a few problems but when the kinks are all worked out you
defiantly have a keeper!! Even if you move up you will want to hold on to it, and now you have the pump!!

Worth waiting for
