I got my new Discovery .22 today also, and what a shooter
« on: April 02, 2008, 09:40:19 AM »
I ordered my Discovery .22 from Crosman Sunday night and it arrived today.  I tightened the screws (several were loose), put a few clean, dry patched through the barrel (had oil or grease in the bore) until it came out clean.  I took a few shots with the open sights that it came with and made a few adjustments.  Then I put my scope on it and WOW, what a shooter.  I went to the basement/garage and stepped off 15 yards.  My best groups were with the Crosman pointed (3/16 of an inch, center-to-center, 3 shots and then 3/8 of an inch, center-to-center, 5 shots) and the group opened up to 5/8 of an inch for 5 shots with Crossman Premier Hollow Points.  Photo of target is attached.  I then set the target outside at 36 yards and shot a 3/4 of an inch group with 5 shots and the wind was howling.  I firmly believe I'll be shooting 1/2 inch groups at 40 yards when the wind dies down.

I am very please with this rifle.  The only thing I don't really like is the stock.  The grain is a little bit funky on one side and I don't like the way it feels.  It feels too short for me and the pistol grip is awkward.  I can get used to it but it doesn't fit like my Gamo Shadow.  That gun just fits me perfect, but it doesn't shoot like the Discovery.  I"ll give you an update after I do some shooting.

I'm glad you are happy with you new rifle . And for the price we do need to consider some of the cosmetics. As far as the pictures go start a album on the forum if you cant make it work here. Its easy even I can manage that one . Just click on the album on the tool bar of this forum and it will walk you through it. Also on the bottom of this message board click on add attachments and browse your files then pull it up. You will probable have to down size your pictures for web use first. Marvin
