Custom stocks
« on: April 06, 2008, 05:02:04 PM »
How many of you QB owners would be interested in custom stocks for your QB?

What would you be looking for and at what prices?

I have been carving stocks and am looking to see what people want.

Thanks for your input.

Some examples:

Hi Tim,
Nice work :)
I really like the lighter coloured stock 2nd from the left in the pic with the four rifles. When you have an idea of costs etc let me know.
Best wishes,
Alan

I like the one in the 1st and 2nd pictures.

If it could be made to fit a Benji Disco that would be cool.

And various other pistols too

Hi Alan,

Thanks, I really like that one too.  It is poplar and one like it would run $150.00 plus shipping.

The blanks are cut and inletted by Don Main.  He sends them to me and I carve the final shape and details and then finish.

If you are interested let me know.  Allow 1 week for Don to cut the blank, a week for transit, 7-10 days to carve and finish.

It probably could.  Don Main cuts the blanks and inlets them.  You would have to send him your gun so that he could inlet the blank.  After that, it is a matter of him sending me the blank and carving and finishing.  Should run $250.00 for the finished stock in the same quality of walnut.

Depending on the type of wood, prices will vary.  The light colored stock is poplar and runs $150.00.

The walnuts wil be around $250.00, depending on design and quality of wood.  Most blanks that Don cuts are about a Grade 3 walnut, so would go about $250.00 finished.  I can basically carve any shape you want, left handed as well.  We would consult on the design with Don for the blank shape and then I would carve the final shape.
