Gold Finger goes to Work
« on: April 16, 2008, 10:02:24 AM »
I received the order of Beeman FTs and JSB Exacts in .20 this afternoon. The R9 is very fond of both pellets, quick work to sight the Bushy in for these pellets. The avian villians were congregating in my neighbor's yard. A FT in the pipe, a smooth pull of the gold Rekord trigger and this gangster fell to the earth from 20' up in a tree. Paced it off at 35 yds. I'm hoping a crow will stray into the trees nearby again so this sweet .20 can show her stuff.

Good job on that Grackle Stephanie!  I love the R9.  Been trying to get a used one in .20cal.  I thought I had one a couple of weeks ago but it was spoken for.

What is the difference between a regular R9 and a Goldfinger R9 besides the scope that comes standard with the Goldfinger?  They both have the Record trigger right? except the regular R9 has a black steel one?  I noticed on Straightshooters the regular R9 looked like it had a darker stained stock?  Does the Goldfinger have a better stock?  The regular R9 is also shown as having checkering on the forearm while the Goldfinger doesn't.
thanks

The Gold Finger does come with the Bushnell Banner 4-12 x 40 AO scope in Beeman 2pc. rings, pre mounted. The Gold Finger has the steel Crow Magnum brake, no iron sights, the barrel pivot block is not drilled for a rear sight. The Gold Finger has a gold anodized blade for the Rekord trigger, as opposed to the clear anodizing on the standard R9 trigger. I'm pretty sure the Gold Finger will not be available anymore after old stock is sold. The Double Gold is replacing the Gold Finger. The first run of Double Gold series rifles had a less expensive "Beeman" labeled scope on them (I think they are built by Tasco). I believe I have heard that the next run of Double Gold rifles will have Bushnells on them.

Nice artillery piece PeakChick!
Whack those nasty grackles, I can't stand 'em.
I just missed a chance to give a soul chicken a .22 caliber high colonic the other day with the B-26 but it took off.
