How long can I

....leave my springer sprung without causing any damage?  I was out for a stroll on the river and missed a rabbit because I was leary about leaving my Diana 34 sprung.  Am I being overly cautious?  At what point do I start causing damage to the spring.  My outings ussually only last 2-3 hours......hopefully with some shots in that time.

I think there is a chart on this subject somewhere. Like keeping cocked for a day, week, month etc. But I do not think if it is just for an hour it would not damage the spring. That is just my opinion. Never hurts to be causious. I know I leave my spinger cocked between shot when I am hunting.
