Discovery comparison groups
« on: April 17, 2008, 04:57:04 AM »
I've complained lately about the groups I was getting with my Discovery ,as compared to my Air Arms rifles  so I thought I would do a head to head  comparison  . I used  my AA Carbine I've turned down to 7fpe  with JSB Exacts 8.4's and the Disco with Kodiaks and JSB's . I don't know how many rifles I've had change it's mind as to what pellet it liked ,so I thought I would give them another try. The top row is 20 yards , 1st target left side is the AA Carbine , the middle Disco with JSB's and far right, the Disco with Kodiaks . The second row is 30 yards , with the AA carbine far left ,with JSb's , middle Disco with JSB's and far right , Disco with Kodiaks .   I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the JSB's now in the Disco , Just to see if it was repeatable , the bottom row is left , Disco 20yards with JSB's and right target , 30 yards , Disco with JSB's . Not as good as the first try , but promising . I guess the Disco decided to start behaving. LOL The next picture is the Disco's first Kill. On the bottom target on my backstop a spider decided to crawl out on the paper midway on the left . SPLAT !! I love it when that happens. kirby

Glad to hear they're getting better.

I received a 2260 baby brother to the Disco, yesterday as the basis for an econo project and was amazed that it shot as good at 30 yards with a BSA 3-7x20 scope. Hmmm? $79.00 vs $239 for the same accuracy?

I suppose that could be said about the Benjamin pumpers too. They are more accurate than they have a right to be @ $139.

I love them all.

Giving her another try (chance) LOL I really would like for it to behave. One of the reasons I bought this rifle was to see if it would shoot good enough to shoot a little hunter field target with and as a loaner for my buddy to use when then go to a match with me. A sort of ,this is what you can use to get started type of rifle. As far as the trigger goes , I can adjust to using a heavier trigger , when I shot CMP sporter , our triggers had to be able to lift a 3 pound weight without going off. I'm not one that wants a 4 oz trigger . My Airarms are 1-2 lbs . kirby
