Apostrophe on keyboard
« on: April 17, 2008, 07:33:08 AM »
I finally discovered one (one of many ) of my problems when keyboarding. Why is it that when I hit the apostrophe I get directed to the search menu in a pop up window in the lower left of the screen? Any thoughts on this. I cannot type in can(apostrophe)t.

I assume you are using Firefox?  Because I used to have this happen quite often.  How old is your Firefox?

Highly recommend updating to the latest version, if that does not work then try:

(open url:) about:config

Then find:

    accessibility.typeaheadfind.flashBar user set integer 0

and change that 0 to a 1

You are my computer guru--thanks '''''''''''''''--love that apostrophe. Which sort of begs the question why the default is not an apostrophe.
