Something Simple and Usefull...:)
« on: April 17, 2008, 09:15:02 AM »

I have been thinking of building a couple of shooting tables. After seeing all the nice ones the GTA members have made in the past I finally decided to gather what I needed and build a couple. Some 1"plywood, cheap carpet, rubber door molding and a set of lreplacement legs for a folding table. Per table the wood cost me $15.98 at home depot, the legs were $15.88 a pair from lowe's, the molding was around $12.50 from lowe's. I had some old white nails which matche the white molding and just used a skill and sabre saw to cut them out. Oh and the carpet was around $8.95 at Fred's Variety store..:) I had been collecting the stuff for a couple months and since Mike, David and a couple other guys may show up this weekend they will have something to shoot on..:) Provided they bring chairs.. hehe

Oh ya these tables fold up and fit in my trunk. There is a cutout to stand your air rifle on the side. They weight around 25lbs ea.

Here are the pics, enjoy...

Gene, those are nice looking tables. I’m looking forward to giving them a test drive this weekend.  That is if Buster Brown ever gets here with my tires, grrrrrrrr!   I should have requested Fed X.

Those are actually very nice looking tables you got there. I was wondering what the little cut out on the sides were for and then I noticed you mentioned it was to stand your air rifle. Very creative, and usefull, idea to make a built in stand. I'd have to make my cut out closer to the chair though since I'm fairly small :(

Dang Gene,
Beautiful and perfect!
I've got to build me a couple of those. I've been thinking about it for a while now.
I didn't know you could buy the legs separate?
Are the two made from one piece of plywood?
If my math is right you've got two nice tables for the price of one store bought, when you can find them on sale, and the opportunity to show off your talent.
Great Job.

It kinda looks like you can make two of them out of one pice of plywood.

Gene, is this about right on the dimensions? I just eyeballed it.
