Air gun info library
« on: September 04, 2006, 01:24:07 PM »

I was wondering if it would be a doable thing to get some general information available on some of the airguns that people use enough to have something informative to say about them.

I'd especially like to know what guns are the same, or copies of one another, and any other subjective observations that you can only get using it over a period of time.

I've seen a site that has a nice beginning and a nice form that would be a useful model Maybe looking at this would give a better idea of what I mean, but with a lot bigger selections of airguns.

Maybe this should be in review?

I think so Ed, but remember we have been given this option by Straightshooters. We have direct access to there own take on most of the popular air guns. It is in our library under Straightshooters.

Or do you want a specific forum or category to do our own reviews and comparisons on air guns?

I think a broader base of makes and models, more tech and subjective data.

I think I envision it as a resource for those of us who have a lot of catching up to do with the old sages hereabouts.

The form might be a thread for each maker/model, with a tech first-entry, and the subjective stuff from others to follow.

I'd like to know that the B-whatever is a copy of the Gamo-whatever; The B-whatever is nicely tuned, but it has thiese shortcomings; these are the pellets commonly found to be useful in this weapon [ymmv]; etc. Maybe a small format could be suggested, to be filled out in whatever manner the information becomes available. Subjective assessments are as valuable, if not more-so, than straight tech-stuff.

A few pics would be nice. I'd especially like to know how they load, since that is hardly ever shown elsewhere, and I find it interesting.

And things of that nature... :)
