missing part, HELP!!!!!!
« on: April 20, 2008, 03:48:59 AM »
I was working on the trigger for my gamo varmint hunter and lost a c-clip that holds the pin in the trigger. Where can I get one or does anyone have one they can send me! All the hardware stores around here don't have any that small.

Aw man that blows - I hate it when that happens.  Someone here may have one they can send you or you can go to http://www.mcmaster.com and type in 'e-clips' into the search.  I don't know the size but I'm sure someone here can help you with that.  When I work on my guns (real or pellet) I always lay out a light colored beach towel to work on to try to avoid small parts bouncing.  I've lost tons of clips, springs, screws and detents but they always have a way of showing up later when I no longer need them.

Hey, Chuck, try your local NAPA or other auto parts store.  Take one of the others with you for size.  In a pinch, I've taken small diameter wire and wrapped it around a pin and twisted tightly.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  Good luck!

You might try Lowes...they have a good misc. parts area.  I like Home Depot but I always have to go to Lowes to their special small parts area to find what I need.

Just use a standard 3/32nd e-clip available at just about any good hardware store.

for 1 ???

you should be able to get a selection box for about twice that

magnets are very Handy for these parts when stripping a gun, provided you don't hear the BING sound and then they are Handy for finding them, the bigger the magnet the better, i often use one of the boating types it could lift an engine, speeds up the search no end

when storing spare ones, i lay out a strip of cellulose tape stick them down on half of it and then fold over the other end and stick it down

might save someone some hassle

thanks, even the guy at the counter was shocked! I was in a hurry and the little bugger shot off into a black hole section of my garage so I just sucked it up and got it so I could shoot this weekend!

Harbor Freight has a plastic compartmentalized box with assorted sizes available for not too much... Hang on, I'll get a link...

...

... OK, here it is: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=4300

Looks like a good assortment to have around. I think I'll get one next time it goes on sale.

Bryan

*** Edit-- I just noticed that this Harbor Freight assortment doesn't include any 3/32" e-clips. I should pay closer attention next time  ;~). ***
