It took a while, between doing the research, ordering the parts etc. but it's done! I finished it last Saturday. Unfortunately the entire weekend was very windy here, so I didn't even have a chance to zero in the scope after remounting. Just shot few test shots. The converted rifle uses 13ci wevo tank pressurised to 3000psi. It is then regulated to 1200psi, which gives nice consistant velocities, without looking for "sweet spot" typical to unregulated PCP's. The wevo bottle connects to the valve of the 850 via PB to Airsource adapter brom Brian and Associates. There are few adapters out there, but the B&A is the shortest and gives it the cleanest look. The only internal modification was a stronger hammer spring to help fight the 1200 pounds of pressure. Stock has been drilled in 2 spots to accomodate the gauge and fill nipple. I don't have a chrony, but most of the guys report 700-750 fps in .22 after conversion. Shot count should be around 100 shots from 1 fill give or take. The test shots I fired felt like they had a solid punch to them, much better then when it was still CO2 shot in 60 degree weather. Seems quieter on HPA than CO2 too. I can't wait for calm weather, so I can check accuracy.

Those guns are a really sweet deal for a PCP repeater, but what has so far held me back is the trigger.  I only shot one once, and I really don't recall much about it, but the trigger keeps sticking in my mind as the weak link.  Somehow I get Gamo S1K trigger feel with a plastic blade stuck in my mind, but I don't hear many people complain about the trigger, so maybe I'm wrong.  I AM however a huge trigger snob, if the trigger is poor that would seal the deal for me, just like the Discovery/2260 trigger.  I do however fancy the idea of a bunch of consistant shots from an inexpensive fairly hard hitting repeater.  I will see Roald this coming weekend hopefully and will try to get him to let me shoot his.  Who knows, maybe his gun will change my mind, I know his guns are always the cream of the crop!

Dan, the trigger is OK... Roald and others don't mess with it much, myself I just adjusted it to the lightest setting. It breaks pretty clean. I would love to see a metal blade in it, not a big fan of plastic either. BTW Roald just juiced his up to 911 fps in .177 by drilling out some air paths. Not bad! The accuracy of these guns is very good so the HPA is really worth pursuing.

Very Vert nice Chris..:) I still have mine to do. I really like it the way it is but cannot shoot it in the winter. The way you guys have been fitting the bottle, gauge and valves is super.. Very Clean indeed I may add. I do not have a problem with my trigger being stiff or hard on mine but that just might be mine. It can be adjusted a bit but I will look into that when I put mine together. I bought a spare stock for mine so I could do the mods with it first before I tear into my other one..:) Anyway Chris thank you for sharing. You have done a great job with your RWS 850...:)

Excellent job!

I have not gotten into mods on the guns yet.  I usually have someone else do it.  Yet I have no problem carving up a nice piece of walnut.......go figure  LOL

Just depends on what you are comfortable doing.  I used to be a bike mechanic in a former life, before kids.

I built wheels from scratch, lacing the spokes in the rims and getting the tension just right.

Now I have someone else change my oil and mow my lawn.  Carving gunstocks is the only really craft type thing I do using power tools.
