US Navy sniper takes out insurgent
« on: April 22, 2008, 02:54:06 PM »
Hah!  I had fun with that.
I got home the other day after getting my butt kicked on that nasty fire we just had at Ft. Carson and was just eating my cereal.  I see a movement out the window and I see 2 starling "insurgents" gliding under radar to my front yard.
I open the garage door 1/2 way and they take off.  Sh!t!
I grabbed the B26 and a few Ruko Match and circle around the back.  I see 1 lookout in the tree beside my deck and 1 on the crown of the neighbors roof.  After a moments contemplation, I decide to terminate the flying poop factory on the roof.
1 shot, 1 kill didn't even flop.  I lined up on #2 but jerked the shot(sh*t!)
#2 kicked in the after burners and left.
First one of the year.

Glad to hear when starlings get gone . . .

Although 50% today, that percentage is bound to improve over the course of the 'starling' season.

The way I see it, you didn't so much "miss" the second one as you "left a witness" to spread the word.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

But I DO like to beckon them back by taking advantage of their appetite, and I don't  make the second attempt from the same position.
