Brocock Enigma Deluxe - .177 cal'
« on: April 26, 2008, 11:21:47 AM »
Hello everyone,
I took delivery yesterday of a nice new PCP. It's a British made Brocock Engima Deluxe in .177 cal'. It's a "take-down" style multi-shot rifle. It has a rotary nine shot magazine. One fill of compressed air gives around 70 shots. It is set for a shade under 12ft/lb but can be factory regulated up to 30ft/lb although I am told 20ft/lb is best for .177 cal'. So far I've shot about a 100 pellets throught and it is a good 'un. The bolt is stiff but I am sure it will operate more easily after a tin of pellets has been put through it. It's quite lightweight and shoulders very easily. I am up early tomorrow for some shooting. I think those who hunt rabbits would like this rifle :)
Best wishes,
Alan

Alan that is a good looking rifle and I sure like the pistol grip stocks and wish they were available on more rifles. Those specs sure sound good . Let us know how it turns out . Marvin

Hi Gene,
I am afraid it's not a bargain. £430.00. About US$840.00 ?
So far I've been able to find out that it is a very accurate shooter. It will always out shoot me! I have a few photos of targets in my digital camera that I'll upload later today.
regards,
Alan

Hi Barry,
It's a little heavier than my BSA Ultra but not too much. Accuracy wise it seems to be the equal of the BSA and that is saying alot as the BSA is super accurate. The shot count is better, around 70 shots from one fill where as the BSA has around 40 but the Brocock has a much larger air chamber. Of course is is a multi shot with nine pellets in the mag' so it has that advantage over the BSA. The finish is very good although not quite as good as my BSA. With a Weirauch moderator it is very quiet with no report at all, same as the BSA. It comes complete with sling fixings as standard and the front one un-screws for bi-pod  attachment. The trigger is good if a little "stiff" but I guess it needs a tin of pellets through it to loosen up. So far I am most happy with it :)
regards,
Alan

Well Alan that is about the going price here for an Air Arms S400.. I would imagine they are in the same catagory as far as accuracy. Do allot of air gunners in the UK shoot FT with Air Arms? Still the Brocock is a very nice looking shooter I have to say.

Hi Gene,
Thanks for your compliment on my taste in air guns :) AA are pretty much the most common PCP with Daystates and BSA's  running a close second in my experience. I like AA for their quality but I don't like the look of them. Just my personal choice. The Brocock is not a common sight at all on FT ranges. If I posted my messages on a certain UK forum I'd be lambasted all day and night for daring to shoot a non-AA's product. As for owning anything Chinese then I'd be sent to Coventry (an English phrase for not talking to someone). That's what is so good about GTA. You welcome all :) Anyway I have got off the point! If you visit London drop by and have a go with it, you are most welcome. Maybe one day I'll jump through all the bureaocratic hoops and get a license so I can have it running at 20 odd ft/lb and see what it can really do :) hehe
best wishes,
Alan

Thanks for you honest reply Alan.. A couple forums I used to attend before the GTA, you did not mention Gamo's. You would blown outa your chair quick..:) It is the hobby/sport and  not which air rifle is better. They all are good and serve a particular use to each and every one of us addicts..:)

And I will look you up when I finally get to your home land. You can bet on that..:)
