1 yellow beak, 1 black beak (graphic)

Looking at my window, I see a starling (yellow beak) land in my yard.  I go to my room, grab the condor, and load a 28 gr. eun jin.  The bird is about 25 yards away and is in some tall grass.  I put the crosshairs on his chest and wait for him to lift his head up.  As soon as he does, I pull the trigger and am rewarded with a loud THAWP!  Upon inspection, this is what I see...



A few hours later, I discover a black bird of some sort attacking a sparrow.  Unfortunately, I was too late as the sparrow was already dead.  For that I load another eun jin and take aim.  This bird is much farther away, about 50 yards.  I take aim and let him have it.  Actual distance was 48 yards.

That black beaked winged turd is a Grackle.  I had one of my Jack Russells finish one off last night.

At least I am pretty sure it is... they are very nasty birds.

Way to go Larry. Those eun jin pellets can pack quite allot of force behind them. When I had my Sumatra .22 that would be all I shot from it. It would develop up to 65 ft lbs and boy you would know when the pellet hit something..:)

Yes, that is indeed a Grackle. That attack on the Sparrow is typical of their thuggish behavior. That type of action and behavior is exactly why so many of the scum have perished in my yard. Go get 'em!!

Normally I might say a 28gr (flying with 40-50FPE out of your Condor?) pellet might be a little overkill for such quarry but it's Yellow Beaks and Grackles we are talking about.. let 'em have it!  :>]

For Grackles, I think frangible rounds would be great.  Starlings too.

And don't forget house sparrows.  Only thing they have going for them is that I can't identify them at range readily enough to take the shot.

I got one yesterday too. Might be posting a pic later if it stops raining.

Shooting the Eun Jins around 40fpe. I have to shoot them at 800fps or higher or else they are not accurate. I used to use kodiaks but sometimes they would break the sound barrier even turned down. The eun jins give me the greatest accuracy and also the best range. I sight my gun at 25 yards, and at 50 the kodiaks are shooting high because of their lighter weight. The eun jins, however, shoot almost with the same POI at both 25 and 50 yards. If I was going for overkill, I would have a MCM flying out at 1200fps. Did it once and there were just wings and feather left.

That's some good shootin'!
Those pellets almost made damage like a .22LR.  Starlings and grackles from the inside out, love it.
I nailed a black beak myself 2 days ago in my front yard with the B-26.
It was facing straight away from me.  From my point of view the Ruko Match went in at the rump and out the center of the chest.  It smashed a pinch of feathers against the back stop and the pellet dropped under the corpse.  Believe it or not, the pellet looked clean but it was deformed from the back stop.

That's a triple header, actually.  The cute little bird is actually a female English sparrow, so don't feel too bad.

Nuthin' sound better than the pop of a wadcutter hittin' one of those squabs.
