Hunter/Shadow/CFX internals?
« on: September 09, 2006, 11:59:27 AM »
Does anyone know if these three models share the same internals?  I've heard that the Shadow and CFX do, but I'm wondering if the Hunter series do as well.  Reason I ask, I've stumbled across someone that makes gas rams (not Theoben) for various rifles, and the Gamo Hunter is on the list.  I'm wondering if this would be a simple fit in a CFX.  Just curious, don't expect to actually do anything with the info anytime soon.  Of course, it might be a good excuse to buy one of the Hunter models...  Thanks.

Dave, I think we have a view of the parts in a couple you mentioned in the Library. What I have seen from watching the Tuna work on mine is NO.... The 1250 hunter has a very large hammer inside and everyting is bigger than the shadows and CFX. The Shadow and my CfX the parts are different.

But the main guy to answer exactly is the Tuna...:)

Hey, Vince,

What did you ever do with those CFX sights?  Anything interesting enough to warrant a picture?

The only real difference in any of the Gamo internals  for the most part (exception is the 1250)  is  the top hat (or front guides) parts and configuration. The Gamo Royal ( European gun) has a totally different spring, guide and block setup than the ones over here. I've done two of the European CFX Royal's and machined all of the change over parts for them here in the shop.

Yes indeed CDT, my CFX Royal .22 keeps getting smoother and smoother every hundred pellets or so... :)  My 1250 has got to have a ten pound sledge hammer inside of it... he he he.  With 58lbs of pressure to cock  it.. lol  I will be needing a bionic shoulder soon...:)
