Working Out With the S-410 and CZ
« on: May 05, 2008, 03:03:09 AM »

I had set aside Sunday afternoon for target shooting. Been hard at it and I am almost caught up now. Just a couple left over jobs to finish up on unless I get more...:) Anyway I have been shooting my S-410 and my CZ 634. Been shooting JSB's and CPL's, in both of them. I wanted to compare the accuracy of my $130.00 CZ Springer witha $870.00 S-410.

So I set up 4 targets at exactly 30 yards. Well the S-410 won out the accuracy test with both types of pellets. You all know I love my springers and am falling in love with my PCP's..:)

The CZ-634 is not a springer to over look when thinking of accuracy. I have been shooing CPL's with the CZ since I purchased itand even after the super tune and trigger tune. It loves that brand and is extremely consist ant and accurate. At 30 yards I can keep a consistent 1/2" hole. With the S-410 the CPL's, I found to be the most consistent where the JSB's pattern would open up a bit. The S-410 can and did keep a 1/4" consistent pattern with the CPL's. Now remember 30 yards is the magic word..:) At 40 yards the CZ could only hold a tight 1" circle where the S-410 could still hit within 1/2" consistently. Now remember I am an old fart with old eyes and I know many of you young whimper snapper's out there can probable do allot better...:) This is just my opinion, but this kind of proves a point with me. A springer can hold it's own with a PCP but when it comes down to superior accuracy a PCP will win every time. Also I might add that anyone who owns a CZ-634 has a fantastic shooter. It has the capability to stand up against a any target air rifle.

Now I am waiting for my newest baby girl..:) She should arrive today if UPS is running. You can take this post as it is and that is my opinion..:)

Gene you said a lot in a few words about PCP's and I think you had a hard time saying it for the first time. As time goes by it will get easier and easier . Trust me and think about all the money that can be saved by not having to replace broken scopes all the time. Not to mention burnt seals and broken springs . I think its a win win situation . But that's only my opinion . Now all I need to do is figure out how to sell a couple springers before this gets out. Marvin

Ya know Marvin..:) Out all the springers I have owned and still own I have never had a broken spring or malfunction. I guess I am one of the lucky people who can shoot them till they just disapear...:) I love my springers and will they will never be replaced by PCP's. I am growing to really love my new and older PCP more and more. Both PCP's and Springers do have there good and bad points.

But Marvin, always remember that all you need to just shoot with a springer is a handfull of pellets and desire..:)

GENE springers are good but as you said the PCP will do better. I wish a springer could be as accurate because they truly do have some good points that can not be deigned . I only shoot targets so the PCP fits my use better so I am drawn that way for sure. Please do not take me to series Iam not one minded about this and may be I should not be teasing you about this subject. Marvin
