Exactly right Chris...:) Actually part of that fencing is to finish up in the back and the other is for the front yard..:) I am almost done with the first stage of my back deck..:) I thought I moved to S.C. to retire and relax..:)

Well I certainly do love the side lever over the cocking lever. I bought a FX Cyclone two years ago with a side lever. It also cocks very smoothly. I plan on making a different style cocking lever for my S-410 Carbine when I get the time. I think my design will make it much easier to cock and will not wear the shaft nearly as much as the cocking lever would. I have been lucky to have purchase these two Air Arms PCP's with such nice stock. Really it is a gamble if you get a good one or so, so one..:)

I've been told the classic and the ER hae the same length barrels and performance.  My shroud is longer and so is the airtube.  I would guess that I would get a few more shots per fill and have a slightly more quiet gun than the classic.  But mine is probably a full pound heavier than the classic.

Thats what makes them so nice, they went to the trouble of making 3 differentsized guns to fit the needs of whoever bought them.   I think the 410 TDR would be a cool gun to have as well.

Jon, do you have the bolt action or the side lever.  I have a bolt action 410 ERB and even pulling the bolt the correct way per AA instructions, it's pretty stiff.  Not a problem, more just a nuisance if I want to keep gun motion down during cocking.  My gun with scope weights a hair over 9 lbs. and when I let the weight of the gun pull on the bolt handle, the gun pulls down less than 1/4 inch.  I'll have to see if I can rig up something to measure the force needed to pull the handle all the way back.

I saw the YouTube video of the guy with the magazine conversion on his 400 and he seems to only need to flick the bolt handle with a couple of fingers to cock his gun.  I don't think even with really strong hands a person can pull the bolt handle on my 410 with so little effort.

I has a 410 fac Classic in .22 and the bolt was (to me) difficult to cock. I've since sold it and now have the 400 series single shot 12fpe rifles which are a lot easier to cock. I've thought about getting one of the Rowan 10 shot adapters for one of mine. These are manually indexed so the cocking force will stay the same. sweet rifles, all  of them . Not to give the impression that the bolt action 410's are impossible to cock, they're not terrible, just a little more effort is required . I sold my 410 because I was getting back into springers and the .22 was tearing up my targets , I could have lived with the extra effort to cock it. I do miss it , and would someday like to get another. kirby

I saw the Rowan setup.  That's the video I saw on YouTube.  It seemed a little pricy, over a $110 plus shipping IIC when I looked last month.  That's when I figured I'd rather put the money into a 410.  Though if I already had a 400 that I liked, I'd just might go with the Rowan setup to update it.

Here's the Rowan video for anyone interested, the vendor is in the UK:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI0LagT39sI

My 410 is a sidelever like Gene's.  They are very easy to cock compared to the older bolt and the other nice thing about them is that the side lever doesnt move once cocked so you dont get into a partially closed bolt situation.

I've owned 2 bolt style guns but in single shot confirguration and even without the magazine I found them to be hard to cock compared to other brand bolt sirguns I've had.  Here's mine:
