DIY 2-StageTrigger with 1-pound pull.
« on: September 12, 2006, 01:00:45 AM »
This modification is an insert you can make yourself (for pennies) and slip into the stock trigger blade.

Advantages include:

1. 16% finer adjustment screw threads.
2. 50% lighter pull weight.
3. 99.9% cheaper.
4. 100% less "bling" to scare the game away.  :D

Yep... it's cool....lol... It will of course never take the place of a GRT-III trigger and certainly wouldn't want it in any of my guns and would certainly never put it in any of my customer's guns if I could do it for nothing as a freebie.

Oh ... and when you attempt this trick, be sure to keep a needle and thread handy as well as a first aide kit near by. You just might need to sew yourself back up.

A thread that was evidently not included for some reason.

An important clarification for sure Steve.

Response to "Actually, Lon, when you set the stock Gamo trigger "perilously close to disengaging"...

I wanted people to know that Gamo does give owners an opportunity to reduce sear engagement when the trigger is "box stock", it's not a GTX only adjustment.

P.S. I'm working on putting together one of those mods to check it out. I do find "drop-in" stuff easier though.

No thanks Steve_NC. I would rather keep myself in one piece. A $28.50 triger replacement would be just fine and I would not have to shed any blood over it. Money is one thing but blood is another.

I know that your ego has been tarnished and you want blood revenge but please keep all related ego post off our forum.

The hand belongs to the person who tried to make the trigger mod that Steve_NC developed. What is your opinion of that high end engineering feet? ")

I don't think so

I think I've seen it before, before this trigger thing.

Come on guys that picture is an out and out lie and has been floating around the net for some time now. also it was NEVER stated it was done with one of the NC steves trigger mods. The pic was posted on the yellpw and it was CLEARLY STATED it was not done as a result of the trigger mod and as internet myth would have it next thing you know folks are claiming it was done as a result of an unsafe mod COMPLETELY NOT TRUE. I HAVE SEEN THIS PICTURE TIME AND TIME AGAIN IN A VARITY OF THREADS FOR MANY MONTHS NOW.
PLEASE, WE HAVE ENOUGH TROLLS AND INDFIGHTING ON VARIOUS FORUMS TO START DOING IT HERE AS WELL. STICK TO THE FACTS GUYS WEITHER YOU LIKE THE MODS OR NOT
AT LEAST STICK TO THE FACTS.
I have 2 of charlies GTX II triggers(and only 2 gamo rifles to put them in) so I have no horse in this race as it were but don't like it when outright lies are printed. intentional or not(I doubt these were intentional just misinformed)
THANKS ALL

And let us not post anything that we don't know to be true with reasonable certainty.

I should've caught this, insofar as the purported injury does not look like it would have been caused by a malfunctioning trigger from a botched trigger mod... unless some doofus had his hand over the muzzle of a loaded and cocked gun. In which case, it would have been his own fault regardless.

Someone on the "other" forum had posted a claim that the only change with CDT's "new" trigger was his putting groves in the trigger blade. I pointed out that unless he had the new and old triggers in front of him and made a side-by-side comparison, he could not make that claim.

It was begrudgingly given the point, along with a fair dose of the requisite 'but CDT is a jerk!' kind of carping that seems to be routinely permitted despite their own forum rules.

Pistolero

Yes the picture probably is not a result of the trigger mod  post. Yes and I should not of drug it to our forum. I am sorry that I lowered myself like others from certain forums. I apologize to our members for doing it.

I would like it if all the personal bashing would stop. I want this forum to be free of this sort of thing. Sometime emotions get caught up in all the garbage that comes and goes. But some people will not let old water pass under the bridge and they keep bringing it back here.

The purpose of this forum and many others like it, is to give others help, information, guidance, etc with the air gunning sport. There are some fantastic individuals within all these forums that really make this sport great. The elder's of the sport play a big part in keeping the lid on safety and wrong information given out about unsafe practices, mods, etc. That is one of the main adhesives of our forum groups.

I am new to all this and have allot to learn. All I want is for our forum here to grow and be a key resource for all new and old air gunners.
It seems that certain people drag our posts from here and copy and past in other forums, and just to blow things out of proportion. Personally I do not post in these forums. I do not stir up trouble or troll and answer posts written in other forums that have been copied and pasted from our forum here.

You are a member here as well as other forums and contribute allot and we all appreciate you sharing your knowledge. You have always conducted yourself as a gentleman as well. There are many members in the Yellow forum that are good people as well. Can we just stop being divided because of individual differences amongst the groups and all come to gather as one big community with sharing knowledge and information. There is no good reason why we should be divided. There is no reason why anyone should shun another or bash someone. We are adults and are smart enough to get along with each other.

I have never saw that picture before it was on that post or anywhere else and I don't set in front of the computer and read all of the posts either. Unlike some people, I just don't have the time. I just brought to attention what someone else there had posted and if not associated with it, why put it there in the first place. After all, Steve made mention of what he did to his hands himself while making it in his post. And for those that call it a lie, they put the lie there, not me. I just pointed out something.

Anyhow, I did pull the picture off our forum.

Thanks Vince
