Stock Conversion..... Has anyone tried to......
« on: September 12, 2006, 01:50:54 AM »
put a Hunter 440 stock on a Shadow yet? I have a 440 stock that is laying around and I took the stock off of my new Shadow this morning and put the 440 stock on it and it fits perfect.

The 440 stock has some lateral hairline cracks and I am going to fix it by drilling and glueing dowels in three places. I will be able to clamp up the stock and drill and insert dowels without any comsmetic damage to the outside of stock. I will of course refinish the stock after everything is dried.

I think this is a project I can handle...:) I am fairly good with wood working and look forward to seeing how the outcome is.

This new Shadow is the one I bought from Wally World at a discount..:) I have purchased a .20 Walther match choked barrel from Rich and will replace the .177 with it. BTW, the barrel I got from Rich looks fantastic. It is cold blued but still looks great and looks even better with his custom brake on it.

I will be keeping you all updated on the progress of this project.
