RWS Pellets
« on: May 14, 2008, 11:06:31 AM »
I'm fixing to order a bunch of RWS pellets (haven't tried them before) to test on my Whisper. I'm getting a few tins of the Super H Points and the Superdomes. Since I prefer hollow points or domes, I'm not getting the sampler pack. Plus if I end up not using the rest, I'm sure I'll eventually find a gun that can. So far, I've tried Crosmans, Daisies JSBs and Gamo Hunters. She does pretty good with the JSBs with the Hunters coming in second.

Can anyone who use(s|d)? RWS pellets provide any feedback on them?

The RWS Hobby in .177 (7 gr) wad cutter is a very nice for target shooting, preferred by my Beeman P3 SPP pistol.

I like RWS pellets.  I've used meisterkugeln's, superpoints, hollowpoints, superdomes.  They all are good quality and shoot well.  RWS is one of my favorite pellet brands.  I'd recommend you try them.

Back in "the day", when field target shooting was just starting out, RWS superdomes were the pellet of choice for most. There are other domed pellets (Crosman Premier and JSB) that have a better BC, but the 'Dome isn't that bad. I never thought of the SuperPoint as having that much penetration because it's a softer type lead. To me, it seems most guns either like or hate the SuperPoint. I've always thought RWS pellets to be consistant and of pretty high quality.  I would try a tin or 2 of each for each rifle/pistol you have. You might be suprised by the results. While the supply of JSB's can dry up from time to time and Crosman had some QC issues with the Premier pellet (some die #'s were supposedly better than others) RWS pellets always seem available. Some stores carry them and many online vendors as well.
