Maybe you should read the law of IP theft before you accuse and pass judgement on someone who obviously hasn't commited this crime:

The home page of the James Kitchings FunSupply site...

http://www.funsupply.com/

...contains this explicit copyright notice...

"Original Material copyright ©  James Kitching 1997 / 2004. All Rights Reserved."

Part of the protected content of that page is the "Stay TUNED technical pages".

One of the titles on that page is this article: "Should you leave your springer cocked?"

http://www.funsupply.com/airguns/cocktest.html

Maybe you should compare that copyright-protected content, to the cut-and-pasted verbatim copy in the GTA Library...

http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/KeepingaSpringerCocked/tabid/96/Default.aspx

Then, dB, maybe you should ask Gene when he got permission - e.g., from James Kitching's widow? - to copy and paste that copyright-protected (by Federal Law) content into his website?

I'll wait while you do that.

Actually Steve, I believe you're wrong. James, nor his widow(I like how you played that trump card)have no right to copyright something written by someone else. That article that you directed me to, was written by Ken Pang, and there are no copyright notices on that article. If, in fact james or his widow did try to copyright something written by someone else, THAT would be IP Theft, unless they had the express written consent from Ken Pang. James' copyrites only cover his business and the things that HE wrote, and for each subsequent piece written by someone else, he needs that persons permission to copywrite their article.  They would by law, be giving him all rights to their articles.

This sounds like a fight between my three & five year old with bigger words.
Grow up & leave the dead out of this JK & his widow are off limits period! If you think because you bought the fun supply site from JK's grief stricken widow gives you the right to use his name or reputation in public to back-up a point your twisted to say the least. Who cares about what site the intellectual property originated at? I'll tell you who-someone making money from it! So if you want to flame Bob for making money or Gene for the manner his site was given birth at least have the balls to blame them for making you lose money! I thougt these forums were developed to promote the sport of airgunning, not as vehicles for advertising & gaining wealth? Money is the only possible motivation I can see to get you so enraged at these two. If this is business fine I can understand your anger but there are avenues to pursue such a battle & it isn't here for sure. If it is personal then pm or the phone might get things settled faster with less chance for mis-communication. I personally think by bringing the fight out into the public you are asking ppl to choose sides which is childish. I only know you through reading your posts & shouldn't pass judgement so for that I apologize. I am let down by how you've handled yourself but I'm sure my opinion of you means nothing to you I mean I'm only a long-term forum reader who refers ppl to websites. I'm really tired of hearing about this whole thing. I hope you find it in yourself to be a forgiving man.

If you have a problem with him, I suggest you take it there.

Meanwhile, as for using a dead man's property illegitimately, that's exactly what I'm saying that honest men must be careful to avoid.

I'm glad you (apparently) agree.

Unfortunately, there's reason to think the admin of this forum doesn't.

All Gene would have to do to set the record straight, is to let us know how he got permission to use the content in question.

Of course, he's not obligated to tell us anything.   But he is obligated - both legally and ethically - to either have gotten the permission, or stop using the content.

yes it would appear you are not the gentleman I wished to address. I apologize for the mix-up. My point being ppl shouldn't bring past events into a current conversation just for the sake of validating their current position. Seems like the search button allows for everyone to look back & use information out-of-context way too often. I'm sure we can agree on that? Again, sorry I directed my comments towards you.

Steve in CT is the legitimate owner and admin' of the JK forum...
If you have a problem with him, I suggest you take it there.

Yeah, right - like that's gonna' happen. How can anyone "take it there" when he bans you before you have any chance to rebutt any accusations? He seems to prefer to air his dirty laundry on other forums, and call in reinforcements from the "yellow sandbox" as needed. Despicable !!!
From what I've been seeing from you of late NC Steve, methinks that "deal with the devil" you made a year or so ago has negatively impacted your better judgement.
