How do I straighten the piston rod
« on: June 01, 2008, 08:09:15 AM »
I'm not sure what happend, I just wanted a rifle to use to get rid of a feral cat and now I have 3 Chinese air rifles.  Most recently a Fast Deer and a TF41.  Any way, I have disassembled each of them for a debur and lube job and each has a rod or spring guide coming out the bottom of the piston that is not concentric with the bore in the piston.  Therefore the piston is slightly cocked in the bore which I somehow feel is not the best situation.   If I chuck the rod up in a drill press, there is noticeable wobble - worse in some than in others.  I am not sure how to straighten this up.  I don't have a lathe to make a new piston.  Is there a way to straighten these up without machine tools/
