HPA pump and adapter....
« on: June 04, 2008, 12:50:02 PM »
Just wondering if all HPA air rifles use the same adapter i.e the nozzle to be plugged in by a hand pump?  As you can see I completely have no idea/knowledge on HPA air systems.  I'm interested in a Logun S-16s and an Air Arms S410....maybe even a Weihrauch HW 100S.....and for the moment I would like to stick with a hand pump.....a Hill model.  I don't want to end up with different adapters  (Don't know exactly if they're called that...) and/or different pumps.  I'll post this on the "main forum" also for more replies.  Thanks.

You can use the same pump on different models , but each manufacturer has a unique probe or adapter . You can set up a hose from the pump with a female foster quick release fitting and add a male foster fitting to the different probes and be able to change them out for whichever rifle you're filling. kirby

Stanley, the three pcp's you mentioned all have different style fill adaptors. My Air Arms adaptor threads are the same as my FX adaptor threads. But the probe ends that go to the air rifles are all different except for possibly a couple.

Here is a picture showing you that from your air rifles adapter filler the parts are all standard US and British fittings. Gene

Thanks kirby and Gene for the help.....geez....looks like not too many air gunners are into HPA airguns.  The problem with me is I don't have access to air gun shops so I can't pick and choose the parts to see which fits what.  If I go the PCP/HPA route....everything will need to be ordered on-line....most likely from Cobra Air Guns, Pyramid and/or Pomona Air Guns....and I don't know how or what kind of adapter they might ship with the gun(s).

In about 2 weeks I will be in Los Angeles....so I'll call Pomona and give them a visit......

There are lots of guys who have hpa guns, this forum just seems to have more guys into springers, pumpers, and CO2 guns.  Your dealer will know exactly what you need, and once you get the hang of it you'll find that there are lots of places to get cheap fittings.

I did what Gene did, I connected a male foster quick connect to all my different gun fittings and plug them into a female foster quick connect, and I would just change them out in a second it's really very simple.

Dont hesitate to ask, I can take pictures if that would help you understand better.  Hpa fittings are very similar to bulk CO2 set-ups.
