Another 10m BB gun
« on: June 15, 2008, 12:31:26 PM »
I picked up another interesting 10m shootin' pole. She's a bit of a quirky old dear but she can shoot!

Must be a Gamo 126, Bill.  And if it's a 10M gun, a very good guess it's .177.  Looks like a single pumper, side lever action.  Cool.

PS:  Here's the Daisy 853 again.  Had to re-size.

Yep, Tommy is right Bill. She's a Gamo 126. It was Gamo's "serious" target rifle some years back. It has a fairly unique cylinder within a cylinder SSP action. They have a reputation as being a bit fussy and high maintenance, sounds a little like me..........   :D

The targets were shot at 10m, 5 shots each, RWS R10 Lights. The one flier in each group is all me.

I'm not sure how old it is Chris. As I understand it Gamo made these in the 80s. It doesn't use the newer Gamo serial number system that has the year in it at the end.

There were two...the 126 and the 128.  Difference is super-minor.  The 128 had an accessory rail and a differnet trigger guard.  Looks to be a slight difference in triggers uints  and they won't quite swap stocks, so there is a difference in inletting as well. the one you pictured has the accessory rail and the plastic trigger guard...the first pix I posted has the metal trigger guard but no accessory rail.

In Europe, the two were marketed as the MC Conquest and the MC Super...yours is the MC Super (and i'd bet that it has an MC stamped somewhere on the barrel breech, near the seiral number).

Now here is the bad news: as far as i know, no one in the US rebuilds them....so take care of the old girl.

Yep I've heard that basically no one will work on them. JG Airguns does list parts for them. I was taking a bit of a chance buying this one, but got it at a reasonable price. It does have a nice trigger, good balance and all that weight to steady the shot. Mine does have the aluminum accessory rail. I had heard of the 128, but didn't remember seeing one.......... Yes, mine does have MC stamped on the receiver, near the serial number. It is stamped Model 126. Mine has the squared, composite trigger guard.

Shucks, a nice gun that ain't being made anymore. I would like to have a gun around that costs like $10 for every 6000 shots.

I sold mine years ago. It was a Daisy, imported from Gamo. SWEET! I miss it.
