BSA Supersport .22 cal
« on: September 24, 2006, 05:59:49 AM »
I am getting a BSA Supersport .22 cal in the mail this week, I am really excited.  I wanted to know if any of you had any expereince with this gun or any of the BSA springers, or any thoughts you had about them.  Here is the link of the gun I won:   http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=55378123  I Had emailed Randy Mitchell who I found with lots of BSA's on his adventure in airgunning site and he seems to love them and thinks they are extremely accurate.  I had also found this on another airgunning site of 25 shots at 25 yards with a Supersport in .177 :  http://home.comcast.net/~pelletgunn/bsa.htm  Thanks in advance for any info - Michael

Michael,

That is a very nice looking rifle. You've probably got a real good one. Best of luck...

I'm so jealous !!!!!

I would love to have a .22 but unfortunately anything from .22 and bigger got to be registered and licenced. Getting a license for a firearm here in SA is getting almost impossible.
Everytime I use my Supersport (.177), I'm more impressed. Yeah I know there's die-hard AA, HWxx and Diana(RWS) fans here that will shoot me for saying this, but I won't trade my BSA for any of those rifles. It's robust, light, powerfull (14.5 fpe) and accurate enough to hit what I aim at without dialing in, range finding etc. Just cock, load, lock, (quick)aim and shoot. I can take a headshot on a pigeon at anything from 10 to 50 yards using this method.

OK, I'm not stupid either... I will trade anyone who wants to prove me wrong... I'll just sell the more expensive gun and buy a Lightming XL. And YES I have tested and shot those rifles before I bought the BSA.

I want a Sumatra or Career, don't know why, because I will hardly ever use it. I guess I just like the look of it. The whole scuba tank/pump thing is just to much of an issue for me, I will rather use a springer.

Hmmm, just thought of something. Isn't there a springer (not a BB gun) that looks like that?

Before some dudes crap on my post, let it be known that I'm not judging or criticising... To each his own.

There is a photo of the BSA in my album.
