AA...a constructive and positive addiction
« Reply #15 on: June 25, 2008, 06:56:55 PM »

Our addiction is not self destructive like what can happen with the abuse of alcohol or drugs. In fact, I consider my addiction to be very constructive. It keeps me outta trouble, keeps my shooting skills honed, and decreases the general neighborhoodpest population(especially rats). The only bad thing I guess is that it costs money, but at least I have tangible goods when its all said and done. I have no job(credit cards are great!!!)and I would have gone stir crazy long ago if it weren't for this addiction/hobby. Times are tough, the chips are down, but I can amuse myself all day long. My left shoulder sure is sore though. I had to change to the right arm for cocking...

Hey,thats another constructive thing...these springers keep my upper body in shape. Especially after the Walter Falcon .25 hit my doorstep.

Yeah, uhhh...   my name's Matt and I'm an addict(still).  It's been several weeks since my last AA post.  I thought it was sooo much fun initially...    just shooting a few days a week.  Then my beautiful girlfriend noticed I was shooting in the morning before work and when coming home went straight for the shooter.  I started dreaming about retailer websites and fantasizing about thw next one and the next one...

Would anyone like some coffee?  It's French Roast!

Anyway, glad to be here...   glad to be sober...   glad to be an airgun fanatic!

LOL my wife says i spend more time "playing" with my "toy" than i do with her.
I tell her at least im not getting wasted every night like some other (most, lol) Marines.

Here's My smoking cessation plan, the first that actually is showing some promise:
Every day that i Dont buy a pack of smokes, $4 goes to my airgun fund!!  Yay!

The wife mumbled something about me "sneaking around" today. Hehe...if she only knew. She has a suspicion, but really she just has no idea how deep I'm in this stuff. No job, critters all blown away, leaves on trees peppered with holes, electrical box filled with duct seal, constantly shooting or in front of the computer, living breathing airguns, and almost everyday there is either a package being delivered or something in the mailbox for me. I really don't think its wrong. It's all good.

And there's no rats to spread filth and disease. Thats cause I been sneakin around...

I know I'm showing my age here, but it's like Richard Pryor used to say: I'm not addicted to coke, I just like the way it smells!!!!! Dudes, we now weigh in grains, not grams!!!! BIG difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow a brand new Shadow Fox with the complete Tuna treatment arrives!!!! With one of these getting mounted, CPA416AORG!!!! That scope just sitting on the new mount, couldn't use the old one that was just fine, new batteries, cleaned it 36 times.................................this will be #5 and looking at a 350.......but I'm ok, right???? I feel like CDT is my connection, but it's a healthy fix!!!!! We're all just FINE!!

Reading all this makes me want to buy another airgun.
I am powerless over my addiction.
Gone shopping.

Yes, we must all rely on our "Higher Power"  . . .   higher power ...  higher power
Hmmmm.  Beeman RX2?   RWS 54?  Theoben Eliminator?   "Dark Side"?  ...

Opps, pardon me, I drifted off there for a moment.

I'm getting the shakes. I haven't shot my gun for 2 days now, and I've been getting some bad mood swings lately. I need to go shoot something, anything, at least 1 shot to eeeez the stress. I'm cocking right now..
Ahhh!!, I'm feeling a little better, I'm putting the pellet in. I'll be right back .....................................................................................................................................................................................................
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. What a feeling, the shakes are gone, and I'm smiling. Much better now, you know the feeling. Until the next fix.

Thanks Cups!!! Put a 3-9x50 Center Point on it, objective JUST about made it!! Thank God I had a little higher one piece mount in the junk drawer!!!!! Put about 100 Super Domes through it. This thing hits hard!! Comfortable too. Like the thumb hole. Once again the Tuna makes a Gamo Sing!! The thing cost me $200 from PA, another $179 to the Fish, and I have a great new toy!!! Going back out in a while, feel like a kid!!! Now what's next??? My sons an I have all synthetic Gamos. 4 of em. Time for some Timber I believe!!!! Maybe RWS...........God, I need a meeting BAAAAAD!!!!!!
