Walther Falcon Hunter .22
« on: June 25, 2008, 01:41:38 PM »
I see Sportsmansguide has the Walther Falcon Hunter .22 for $242. 97  (for club members).  Combine that with one of the readily available $10 or $20 dollar off coupons and the price of the gun would be even better.   Here's the link

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=440595

Not a bad deal with the coupons.......   Hmmmm    now my finger is twitchin again    :)

Yeah,,, I was thinking the same thing but if you want the gun in .22 cal that's a pretty good deal......

As for me I'm gonna keep saving my pennies for the .25 cal  but I figured I'd post it in case someone likes the .22

Sportsmans Guide California restriction
« Reply #5 on: June 26, 2008, 12:50:24 AM »

Here is what they wrote to me:

Thank you for your question on items that have mailing restrictions.

We have placed restrictions on specific items listed in our catalog and our web site.

Due to the various state, county and municipal laws that exist, we are not always able to comply with each individual guideline.

Not all of the restrictions are based on laws on the books, but could be a company decision based on other particular concerns.
These may include whether the state has law suits pending involving gun owners and recent court decisions that may affect businesses like ours.

Also, it may be that the states' laws are so vague that they could be interpreted unfavorably in the event a court action was ever involved.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Items restricted to California also has to due with the crime rate as well. We are given the statistics for each state and have an agreement with such lawmakers to not have the permission to send such items into the state.

Absolute nonsense (without comment on literacy). Life here is restrictive enough without these guys imputing new restrictions of their own. Good to see they are being proactive about the pellet gun crime wave, though.

You guys in the "lucky" states should seriously consider patronizing an outfit with logic like this.

That certainly can be frustrating,,,,,, I have the same problem with cheaperthandirt.com      they won't ship any air guns anywhere in New York State even though most other online retailers ship here.  Even Archer airguns won't ship to New York which I find especially inconvenient since they have quite a few guns I'd like to order.  With respect to sportsmansguide,,,,,, as far as New York is concerned they of course will not ship to NY City zip codes as NY City has air gun restrictions in effect, but they will ship to my area of NY  where there is no restrictions in effect.  I wish Archer airguns and cheaperthandirt would learn from sportsmansguide, but then again in todays world where it seems everyone is concerned about liability I guess I can understand them being overly cautious and shying away from areas of the country where they even think there might be a risk of getting sued.

That's funny Jeff, I am not too far from you in CT and sportsmansguide won't ship air guns to me and Cheaperthandirt ships air guns to me with no problems. Cabelas will ship me air guns also...Imagine that,
They are so paranoid of law suits they dream up some Screwy laws to try and cover their @$$e$ incase they have a lawsuit. That can't be too good for their business, imagine all the sales they are loosing over this dreamt up law.

I agree with you Chris,,,,,,,   these companies shouldn't have any trouble figuring out where they can ship airguns legally and where they can't.   It's not rocket science.  I certainly don't blame the companies for being concerned over liability,,,, but their shipping restrictions are not logical.  To refuse to ship airguns to an entire state simply because one or two cities in that state have restrictions is simply ridiculous,, at least to me......   Oh well,, I'm done venting.  :)

Pyramyd Air has them for that price. I just purchased the Falcon in .22 it should be here later today or tomorrow. But I pyramyd they have them in .25 sometime Thursday. With the coupon and the shipping it came to like $253 or something like that.
QB-79 (.177), Walther Falcon Hunter (.22), Crosman Quest (.177)
