Decision made, but...
« on: September 29, 2006, 03:30:08 AM »

Ordered the 350 from Midsouth last night. Now I need help with scope mounts. Does anyone know how much barrel droop the 350 has? And are the BKL mounts available in 30 mm tube? I know that RWS rifles are notorious for scope mounting issues, sounds like the 260 will solve that. And on that subject, how bout some scope recommendations? I currently have a Leapers 3-12x44 AO full size on my CFX, was thinking about moving it to the new rifle and getting a smaller scope for the CFX. Hey, Gene, you had some big glass your were planning on disposing of, got something you think would work? Thanks again, guys.

Congrats on your purchase.  You will love the gun.  I have a Leapers 4x16x50 mildot illum reticle on mine and love it.  Cheaperthandirt.com has some real good prices on Leapers if you're interested.  Good luck with the new gun.

Daved,

You have made a good choice. I use the Beeman model 5039 mount on most of my RWS rifles. They are for 1'' scopes though. I have a B Square one piece " A A "  adjustable mount on two guns. They both work very well. My catalogs are old so, I suggest calling the mount manufacturers. BKL does make 30mm tube mounts and they also make droop compensated mounts. Call the factories. Best of luck...

Have you checked there web site? They have anything just about that you need. Best thing is to call them. A great bunch of guys over there. They even have the mounts with specific droop built in.

Oh ya, Midsouth is a great place to deal with. I have always been pleased with the quality of merchandise I have bought and there service.

Yeah, I did.  Turns out the 300 series is for 30 mm tubes.  So where you 1" guys would order a 260, I'll order a 360.  No drooper mounts available in the 300's, but it doesn't look like clearance will be a problem, the 360 is actually a little higher than my current Accushot 1 pc. high mount.  Will keep everyone posted.
